CPU Overheating

Hello everyone,

Sorry if my explanation are not always clear English, but I am French.
Nobody is perfect !

Well, my trouble is that since 2 month my Laptop SmartPC 250N XP SP2 is stopping itself two or three time a day without any error message & it can be restart without any message too and run after that, 8 hours without any trouble.

Note : No message in the XP event too.

I think it could be a cooling problem, because I notice that the fan is sometime running down before the Computer stopping.

Could you say me if there is a link for a software that could do a processor temperature mesurement & or monitoring.

Already done : Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Drivers Update etc...

Thanks

If you suspect overheating, make sure the fan inlets and outlets are not blocked.

If you have used your notebook for some time, remove the fan cover and carefully clean out the dust which has certainly accumulated inside.

You might want to install http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/index.html to observe the CPU temperature (Inspiron 8x00 only!)
