D510 vs D520

In our company we work with the Latitude D510. I'm interested in the difference between the D510 and D520 for normal office work  and remote VPN work.

Is the dual-core T2400 (1,83 Ghz)  prefered above the Celeron M 430 (1,73 Ghz)? (almost the same price)

Is there a difference in battery performance?

Is this road-ready casing a great improvement for durability?

We write off our laptops in five years, are there special benefits in the D520 which I should consider?

Any other comments are welcome also.
thanks in advance

Tom

You use celeron CPU's in a business?

The dual core chips are very fast, and the battery life is very long also. As to whether you need that kind of power for your business depends on what you do.

I run the IT dept for my company, and the software developers get dual core machines, the sales guys just don't need them.

I notice that the two D520 laptops I've examined have loose batteries. They wobble around and seem like they may come loose over time. The D510 laptops don't seem to have this problem. Has anyone else noticed this?

Up until now the 5 series were the same as the 6 series except they had celerons.

The D520 however is sort of like a D620 packed into a D610's case.

In ever case I've seen, if you put a Pentium in a (C/D)5 series system it boots up as a (C/D)6 series instead.

C500 > C600
C510 > C610
( I don't know if a C540 existed, I've never came across one)

D500 > D600
D510 > D610
