D600: Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse for Bluetooth - Button Mapping?

Just got my D600 & I can confirm that the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth works* with the D600's on-board Bluetooth adapter.

Yes, that's an asterisk in that statement and therein lies my question.

I've installed Intellipoint & Intellitype but skipped the installation of the transceiver that comes with the Microsoft gear. I'm able to change the keyboard's extended key mappings (media player, favorites, etc), but I am unable to make changes to the button assignments within Intellipoint module stick.

For example, I can change the button assignment for the wheel button from Autoscroll (default) to double-click. However, when I test it out, the wheel button still performs the Autoscroll function.

Any idea on how to change this behavior - short of disabling the on-board bluetooth adapter & using the Microsoft dongle?
