The message I get when I try to retrieve it says:The dell Dock’s language file, which is necessary for its operation, has failed to load. Please check your Dell dock installation

Hi dwf133,

Welcome to the Dell Community.

The concerns seems to be with the way the Dell Dock was installed on the computer. I would like to know if you were trying to install Dell Dock for the first time or was it already installed on the computer.

The easiest way would be to uninstall and reinstall Dell dock. You can go to the control panel >> Programs and Features and then uninstall the Dell Dock program..

Once done, please restart the computer and install Dell dock from the following link.

http://delldock.com/

This should take care of the concern.

Didn't have to reinstall windows, I used a site calles AROS 2012 that kicked out the bug or whatever it was.... I was able to uninstall the old delldock software and reinstall went fine accoring to the program, Can't figure out why it keeps saying "The Language file has failed to load"....

Hi dwf133,

You can just try one more thing here.

>Click on Start and then search for Dell Dock.

>Right Click on the Dell dock and then click on Run as Administrator.

It should come up fine after that.

Hi dwf133,

As you mentioned earlier, that you had a virus on the computer. Did you happen to reinstall windows on the computer?

I would also like to know if you were able to successfully uninstall the software from the computer and then reinstall from the provided link.

Hi dwf133,

Just the last possible fix that we can try, or else we might have to actually clean up the computer by doing the OSRI or taking it back to the factory defaults by doing PCRESTORE.

Go to the C:\Program Data\Dell\DellDock

Kindly delete the complete DellDock folder and restart the computer.

After restarting the computer, we will have to reinstall Delldock and then check.

dwf133,

Start, control panel, folder options, view, show hidden filed and folders.

Start, control panel, programs and features, Dell Dock, uninstall.

Restart your computer

Download and install Search Everything

In search everything, type...

Dell Dock

Delete everything it finds

Now type

Stardock

Delete everything it finds.

Restart your computer.

Download Dell Dock and try to install it.

What happens?

Rick

I have been reading this because having the same issue as of 2 days ago minus the virus issue. I've followed the un/reinstall step and same error. So, I may try this last suggestion and hopes that it works. I too, don't right think it's a big deal that it's not working, nevertheless, still would like resolution.
