Dell Inspiron 1564 laptop OS changing

HI everybody

Few days ago I have purchased Dell Inspiron 1564 laptop with preinstalled windows 7 Home prmium 64bit Italian version. But I've also a lot of 32 bit software that I use currently. So I would like:

1- to install windows 7 32 bit if  this PC support a 32 bit OS?!

2- or to install windows 7 64bit professional, which maybe gives me less problems with driver and perimt running 32bit emulator?

3- But if this operation makes me lossing the warranty, who to avoid it ?

thank you

You only get a 90-day software warranty with the system anyway, so you aren't losing much.  You are on your own if you change the OS, support-wise though.

You will need to purchase a copy of Windows - there is no provision for a 32-bit downgrade to 64-bit Home purchased with a system.

I Strongly suggest that you call the Dell Technical Support Line and talk with them because they can tell you for sure how you can do it. They can tell you that it can run 32-bit OS and they can answer questions on 32-bit applications running on 64-bit systems. This will be FREE as well under your support plan.

On a side note changing your OS will not affect your warranty, you can put any OS on their you like Dell only covers the physical hardware.

Hope this helps!
