Dell XPS 13 TrackPad Issues after Driver Update

After updating my XPS 13 Ultrabook's Cypress drivers to the newest drivers released yesterday on the Dell Support Downloads page, all gestures (Though still enabled) have stopped working. The trackpad itself still seems to work fine after the driver update, but no gestures work any longer. They all worked right before the update.

I've tried the normal set of enable/disable, reboot, update. But has anyone else had this problem or know how to resolve?

Thanks

I'm on the latest Dell drivers here too for my cypress.  XPS 13, new model w 1080p screen/core i7.

I don't see half the problems people see here with my trackpad but what I do get is occasional lockups of the trackpad.  Almost seems like the drivers are choking or something.

Strange thing is that I can still use the click functionality.  It's just the touch which goes away...

Generally it returns after a while too.   Really hope the hardware's good and these are all driver bugs which eventually get smoothed out.

It is not about the hardware. Hardware is good. All the problems comes with bad Cypress driver. I can't understand how company like Dell sells such ultrabooks with bad drivers (trackpad doesn't register tap clicks, mouse cursor freezes on screen - basics touchpad functions).

Just commenting that I seem to have had mouse issues with the L322x as well. There are some observations that I thought might be helpful for people, which include the fact that the L321x drivers also work with the L322x. In addition to this point, the version 2.5.0.53 drivers for the L321x have a feature that allows the drivers to automatically disable the trackpad when an external mouse is plugged in. I haven't tried it yet, because for me the computer is still relatively new and I haven't been driven completely round the bend by it yet, but I assume that if the trackpad automatically disables when I have an external mouse plugged in then any random click issues associated with the trackpad will disappear. At the moment however, I am using the 2.5.3.43 driver for the L322x. This is a driver upgrade I have just done since I was having some small issues with the 2.5.3.35 drivers.

Unfortunately the 2.5.3.43 drivers lack the ability to disable the trackpad automatically if an external mouse is connected - that is a very useful feature, and I would like it if Dell would ensure that this feature is included in the next driver release. That way, if Dell screws up and releases <ADMIN NOTE: Substitute character  removed as per TOU> driver (which, lets face it, they have a long history of doing as far as these laptops are concerned, at least they do if this thread is anything to go by) I can still get around any potential issues by plugging an external mouse in. I hope that Dell will continue to release windows 7 driver updates for the trackpad in this laptop. It would be nice to have a driver that has the smooth scrolling features of the 2.5.3 series drivers as well as the disable trackpad when external mouse is plugged in feature of the 2.5.0 series drivers. The inertial scrolling feature in the 2.5.0 drivers really wasn't very good, I don't want to have to go back to that driver because the 2.5.3 series drivers lack the ability to disable the trackpad when an external mouse is plugged in.

Quick update ... I'm using the latest drivers. I had a tap to click issue on the right side of the trackpad. I also have a Logitech mouse driver installed. I disabled the Smart Move feature in the Logitech software and the tap functionality seems to be working fine now. There might be conflicts between mouse and the Cypress trackpad drivers.

Thank you for helping.

Xps 13 2009 touchpad scrolling and gesturing do not work after windows 10 update, cypress driver.
