Diagnostics short test error

Good day, my Dell inspiron 15 laptop, purchased this summer and running Windows 8, is 'stuck' in an 'auto-repair' loop. I hit F12 and ran Diagnostics. get the following error. Any help is appreciated. Error Code 2000-0142 Validation 113953 Msg: Hard Drive 0 - S/N WXA1A2316357, Short self test unsuccessful. Technical Support will need this information to diagnose the problem. Please record the above Error and Validation codes .

Call Dell with the error - they will send a replacement drive (or a technician to replace it for you, if you have onsite service). The hard drive has failed.
