After you connected the USB (I'm assuming that's how you connected the camera), did you then turn the camera on? This might seem obvious, but I thought I'd ask. I had to connect my camera yesterday via USB. I usually use the card reader, but my husband took a couple of pictures and didn't have the card inserted, so the pictures were saved in the camera's memory. It's been quite a while since I used the USB connection, and the camera wasn't detected by winxp, until I turned the camera on.

Hi Pam
Yes hun it was turned on it was aplug and play device. From reading our dell forum entrys I learned I needed to go to my devive manager and find out if that USB port was turned on:
But when I opened the DEVICE MANAGER it was empty so further reading was told if plug and play wasnt enabled device manager would appear blank:
So with that corrected the USB ports were already enabled:
But there was an (!) next to Image Device upon clicking it, it stated currupt driver once that was installed it worked perfect.
Thanks so much to all who post to this forum you guys are all WONDERFUL.
