disassembling inspiron 1520
hi guys
i want to clean my fan and heatsink
but the disassemble method which dell tells me is waaay too complicated..
this is the page for disassemble
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1520/en/sm/fan.htm#wp1179839
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1520/en/sm/cpucool.htm#wp1179839
is there any other way of getting to the fan and the heatsink? like a shortcut? rather than removing everything else to get there..
thanks

There is no shortcut if you truly want to remove and clean the fan and heat sink.
It really is not that hard to disassemble. Print out the instructions and just follow them step by step.
You could try to use compressed air and blow into the air vents to try and clean out the system.
Just a word of caution on this one.
If you blow the compressed air into the fan and it starts to spin fast, do not stick the nozzle of the compressed air can into the fan. This could damage the fan.
