Error 43 code with display adapters
Hi
I've owned a DELL XPS m1730 since last September. Its specifications are:
Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU X9000 @ 2.8Ghz
4GB RAM
Geforce 8800M GTX in SLI
Vista 32-bit
A couple of days ago i was playing Unreal Tournament. This was one of the main reasons i bought the XPS as i had seen that this laptop played the game flawlessly. 2 days while playing UT3, in mid-game suddenly the game started to slowup. Moments later the screen went to a blue screen - from memory i can't remember exactly what was said on the screen as it went by too quick. After a few seconds passed it restarted automatically. When it logged back on, i realised that Aero theme was disabled. So ii tried enabling it, but the option wasnt there.
I check in device manager and realised that there was yellow (!) near the garphics cards. It read "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". So i thought it was driver issues. I then updated my driver with at least 5 different versions from Nvidias site, although nothing helped (and yes i uninstalled driver the properr way with driver sweeper etc). In device manager when i try to click "Check for solution", normally it would check, but this time round it says "could nto laod driverr software". When i run dxdiag i and check the driver it doesnt say anything under there, although when i check in device manager it says the updated version that i put on.
So i'm wondering if anyone here has any insight as to what could be the problem and what i should do. I've also backed up all my files and restored the laptop to Dell Factory settings, and still the problem persists.
Any help would be appreciated
Peter
