error code 2000-0142

Question

When I turn on my studio 1555 I get the microsoft window with the scrolling bar. That is as far as It goes. It will not boot up. I have gone through the restore process using F12/F2 to no avail. I ran the PSA test and get an error msg: error code 2000-0142/msg: hard drive 0 - unsuccessful/status 79. Can anyone tell me what this means and how do I fix it??

The fix is a replacement hard drive - yours is toast.  You'll need a new, 2.5' 9.5 mm (or slimmer) SATA notebook drive.
