Error code 2000-0147 Some one please help
So my inspiron was working fine this afternoon but now it's just showing me a black screen. Now I've searched on how to fix it and I've gotten this far but would like further help now from an expert.

Hi Bosweezy,
2000-0147 error indicates “Optical Drive (d) - self test: (s): Your CD or DVD drive has indicated a failure”. I would suggest you reseat the optical drive and see if that makes a difference. In the link below punch in the system service tag or express service code and you can access the user manual for removing and reseating optical drive.

Also, please connect an external display to check if the system is switching ON.

So if the reseating doesn't work do I have to get a new drive?
Also when plugged into an external display it shows the same black screen.

Hi Bosweezy,
I would suggest you to remove the optical drive from the system and then check if the system is switching ON.
