Error Code: OFOO:0232 Gonna need some help

:emotion-2:Hello all.

I have an Inspirion 1720 Laptop that I got about 2 years ago and everything was working fine until I was playing a game last night and it randomly froze and the laptop locked up.

After trying to restart the laptop I found that it will only boot passed the Dell splash screen then it goes to a blank screen with a flashing white line in the upper left corner. so I ran a diagnostic today and I found these 4 errors.

Error Code: OFOO: 0232        MSG: Disk_O Timout waiting for IRQ

Error Code: OFOO:0146         MSG: Disk_O Timout waiting for IRQ

Error Code: OFOO 065D        MSG: Disk_O Timout waiting for IRQ

Error Code OFOO:0432          MSG: Disk_O Timout waiting for IRQ

all of these errors appeared when the diagnostic was checking the SETA DISK and they all had  (MSG: DISK_O Timout waiting for IRQ.)

Do i need to go buy a new SATA Hard drive to fix this problem? or is it something far more serious

Any help would be  greatly appreciated.

You do need a new hard drive - if the diagnostics will run, that alone should solve the problem.

what do you mean the diagnostics should solve the problem, bnecause I ran all of it twice and it didnt fix anything.

Sorry for my computer ignorance I know the basic stuff about computers but not alot of the more detailed stuff.

but thankyou for the answer at least I now know its my hard drive and not something more serious.

=D

That is what I meant - replacing the drive should solve the problem.
