Error Code OFOO:281A

I have a Inspiron 14R laptop running Windows 7 with a DVD-RW drive (Specifically: Dvd+/-Rw, 8X, Serial Ata, Small Form Factor, Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology) but lately I determined it will not read DVDs (I have tried several pristine disks as well as ones it has read in the past).  It does read some CDs I burned 8 years ago so that is good.  I ran the diagnostics and received the error code OFOO:281A when looking at the CD/DVD drive.  The Message was Disk - Drive is not reading, try another disk.   This is not at all helpful since I know that.  Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what to do.  Thanks
