Getting Memory Errors on Startup.
I have a Lat CPXJ 650 with two PC 100 / 128 MB Dimms. (256 total)
Win XP Pro SP 1
On boot, this message appears on the screen saying:
"memory read write failure, decreasing available memory
the amount of system memory has changed"
When I go into setup after that, the BIOs shows 128 mb installed, not 256. I can hit F1 to continue booting and it starts up fine after that, but "my computer" shows 128 MB installed when I right click and go to properties.
I can take one of the 128's out and the computer boots fine. I can even exchange the either of the Dimms and boot the computer error free with either DIMM by itself.
Then I sometimes get an error saying PCI.sys is corrupt, but again, If I only boot with one Dimm, I never get this message.
I read a M$ KB article saying to reinstall the OS in place and I did that, still same problem

UPdate your BIOS, if your lucky , that fixes your problem.
if your not, you have a faulty DIMM slot b.

I have exactly the same problem.
My bios is the latest version, and the problem started about a month ago.
since it worked before i guess it is some hardware failure, do i have to replace the M.B or is there a more simple solution>
