HDMI to 2 dual monitors

Hi,

I hope this community can help me.  I have an Inspiron 15R laptop which only have (1) HDMI and (4)USB output.  The video card is only a Intel HD Graphics 4400. I want to connect 2 dual monitors both which have VGA and DVI input (no HDMI input).  What cables do I need to run both monitors as "extended monitors" (ie. I don't want duplicate view)?  I know I can use HDMI to go into one monitor.  Can HDMI split into 2 monitors?  Another suggestion, is can USB be used for one monitor, and HDMI for another monitor?  I do not play games, just work and internet.

Please help:emotion-6:

I have the same laptop, and was wondering the same thing.

HDMI splitters, will only display the same desktop on both monitors.

You might try this device instead:

I have used these type of devices on MacBooks and been successful.

There are HDMI splitters:

That said, you will need to disable the internal screen to do this, since you can drive only two displays simultaneously.

thank EJN63, will the splitter just duplicate the display on both monitors?  I want to have "extended desktop" (one monitor showing different display to the second monitor)

thanks I finally found a similar product: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008GXQ1OW/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Agree, these adapter allows one to use the USB to connect to another monitor. It took me awhile to find there are products available. kw
