help on openGL!!!

Whenever I run programs using openGL, an "OpenGL init failed" error message will popup. Can anyone help or at least explain what is the problem? Thanks.

Could be a driver problem, as I got the same message a while ago and couldn't find out how to fix it... so I uninstalled the video drivers and the reinstalled and problem fixed. So give that a whirl (it also gives you a chance to upgrade to the latest drivers if you wish too, check out the INF's at Teraphys's or Pieter's so that you can use NVIDIA drivers (instructions on how to use INF's are on said sites)).

Good luck

completely uninstall your drivers in control panels "Uninstall video card drivers" or along the sort realting to nvidia

then when the system restarts your resolution should be small at that point reinstall the most recent drivers via dell or nvidias and everything should be fine

Thanks. It turns out that after uninstalling the driver and windows restarted, the video driver was automatically reinstalled!?, which I never noticed before.

Anyway, thanks to you all.

I thought the problem was resolved but it lingered, like a never-ending curse. It is taking a new form now: when I start the computer and logon for the first time, openGL refuse to work. So I logoff and logon again, TADAH, openGL back to normal!!!!???? What is the big deal here? Anyway, I can live with this as long as I am only required to repeat logon/off once.

to get rid of the rpoblem once and for all consider a fresh installation of windows

reinstalling windows may not be nessecary.  try uninstalling your drivers again then before restaring use a tool called' driver cleaner'  which will.. remove all traces of the driver, registry settings etc  and if you wish .. remove windows native drivers for the card from its .cab file(this will stop windows reinstalling the driver automatically when restarting)

restart then install the drivers a fresh

download driver cleaner from  driverheaven.net

hope this helps
