Imaging Devices
Hello All,
Recently My web cam stop working. on Start of Web cam following message is coming up
"Please plug in a supported device"
I read this online article for troubleshooting.
"http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?docid=266612"
I found that in my device Manager "Imaging Devices" is not listed.
my model detail is : inspiron 14 , 64 bits, windows 7 Home.

Hi Neetu,
Run diagnostics on the webcam. Below mentioned link would help you with the diagnostics on Webcamera:
http://dell.to/NI55sF
From the above link, select “component”, select Camera and run diagnostics.
If the diagnostics passes Uninstall/reinstall webcam central from the below mentioned link:
Uninstall:
To uninstall the Dell webcam central software, perform the following steps:
Once uninstalled restart the computer.

Hello Rajesh,
I followed the step.
1. diagnostics
2. removal
3. Again web cam Installation.
Yet, Same issue still there.

Try this first...
Download and install in this order...
Dell System Software
Intel HM57 Express Chipset Family
Then download this file also known as Dell Webcam Central Version 1.40.05 and see if it works.
Start, control panel, programs and features, Skype, uninstall.
Restart your computer. Then download and install Skype
If this doesn't work, then try creating a new unrestricted user account. Then try the webcam. If the webcam works, then log out and log in to your account. The webcam should work.
If all the above fails, if your under warranty, click on the blue Dell-Rajesh R on the next page, start conversation, please provide the following information...
First and last name
shipping address
phone number
email address
service tag.
