Inspiron 1520 MB Upgrade Question

If I want to replace a faulty MB on my wife's 4-year-old Inspiron 1520, what would be a good but not-too-pricy MB to install?

Don't need a high-end gamer board, just something for my wife to check her email and FB page.

Thanks!

Buy her a new computer. 4 years is a good run for a laptop and it is not worth spending any money on it. You can get basic models now for less than $300. That would be fine for email and surfing.

Here's my thinking about this issue.

1) My wife is NOT very computer savvy. Any big OS change (moving from XP to Win7) will be difficult for her, plus going to a new laptop complicates the issue of getting all her settings and email off the old HD and onto the new one.

2) Replacing the MB for under $200 and using her existing HD will get her up and running quickly and easily, and will save about $100 over those "basic models".

Only another 1520 board will fit -- there are two types: one has integrated video (Intel) and the other has a socket for an nVidia card.

You can replace one with the other but you'll need to change the heatsink assembly if you do.

There's no other board for the system - and the nVidia cards are renowned for unreliability, so the Intel video version is the better choice.
