Installer log files

Question

I am trying to install the newest video driver for my M1730 (Nvidia 8700) and it fails to install.  There are no error messages, it looks like it completes and when I restart I still have the older drivers. Is there a log file or a way to produce one during the install?   Download latest Dell Performance Driver (limited Dell Testing. Vendor version 174.31)

This is so discouraging... No one on three different forums(websites) will even answer this question.

It has been 4 days and still no answer. Not even an attempt.  I guess from the response, there is no way to produce an install log for the NVIDIA Driver Install.  This makes it next to impossible to troubleshoot.
