HI all,

Im new to all this, I recently turned my lappy on the other day and during the boot process i got this error message " No Bootable Device" strike F1 to retry boot. F2 for setup utlity it also says Primary hard drive 0 failure.. I have BIOS version A10.

On the BIOS set up screen it says Primary Hard Drive 40010MB Modular Bay CD-RW.. I have no Floppy drive installed on this laptop

On page 2 of the BIOS i have Internal HDD, Modular Bay HDD, CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive, Diskette Drive all enabled.

I also get 2 short beeps aswell.

I really need some help with this, as i need my laptop for my work as i use to DJ with and i have over 2000 songs on it that i really need and cant afford to loose.

Any help would be great.

Locate the blue and white Dell Drivers and Utilities CD that came with the system, boot from it and test the hard drive.
Given the symptoms and the age of the machine, it is very likely the hard drive has failed.
