Latitude E6530 graphics card problem

I have a Latitude E6530 with NVS 5200M. It connect to a Samsung SA850 27" monitor through the hdmi port (with a hdmi to dvi adapter). The monitor supports 2560x1440 but the 5200m card can only set the resolution to 1920x1080. In windows 8, all text on the 27" monitor looks a bit blurry. Is there anyway to set the resolution to 2560x1440 on the monitor?

Btw, NVS 5200M should have a mini display port. But i can find it on the laptop. Anyone knows where it is?

Hello All,

an update. I upgraded my monitors to two Dell U3014 (30") and work with the resolution of 2560x1600 on both.

Both monitors arrived with DP to mini DP cable.

cheers

hi,

i just bought 4k resolution monitor

i tried both VGA port and HDMI port, max resolution was 1980x1024 (1080p)

is there any way to upgrade this resolution to the one mentioned in the spec sheet , it can support higher resolution thru VGA, but i cant get anything better than the 1080p !

i actually was looking for a way to get to 4k resolution, but seems not possible, anyone have done anything to get such a resolution? is it driver issue or hardware limitation?

thanks!

XBaha:

the Latitude E6530 graphics card is an nVidia NVS 5200M.

From the tech specs (http://www.nvidia.it/object/nvs_techspecs.html) you can see that the card can support a resolution up to 2560x1600 but on Display Port only. On HDMI it's limited (by HDMI itself) to 1920x1080, i.e. 1080p. On VGA can't go beyond 2048x1536.

So I think there's no way to use the 4K monitor at full resolution.

I think it's only available on the docking station.

today i just got a docking station and a DP/HDMI cable.

after i plugged it with my laptop, everything went fine, i still didn't set the resolution.

the max resolution i got is 1080p, nothing more! so i tried to set it manually, then i have no idea what happened!

the NVS driver in the device manager was removed, and replaced with Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 !!!

i tried to remove the new driver, but still coming back...

i tried to install the original driver that came with the laptop, it said no nvidia driver detected!!!

what has happened??? how can i get the device to be recognized???

when I connect the Dell Latitude E6530 Laptop to TV thru HDMI, it is not working. same case when I connect the laptop to Monitor or Projector. what's issue with the laptop ?

When I call dell, they were telling that Motherboard needs replace, send the laptop to Dell Depot.  This is the 5th issue after I buy this laptop.

I am getting many issues with Dell E6530 laptop. Initially I was not able to create files/folders in C:driver. Dell took 5 months to find it is an s/w issue and I never seen such a worst customer support in my life.

Dell Technical support team  investigated issue like all the ways from last 5 months ( Connect the laptop Remotely , Technician came to home and Did the verification and sent the laptop in Dell Depot.). They will take 10 to 15 days to send and receive the laptop.

Dell support team suggested to re-install OS five times in last 5 months and re-installed the OS.Imagine how difficult to install Antivirus ,Microsoft office s/w  and setup all the s/w setup. Dell support team can't understand why such a horrible torture to customers.

Here is my Service Request #: < ADMIN NOTE: service request number removed per privacy policy> .
I am not having confident that Dell will resolve my issue. hoping the best. would anyone from Dell can look into that and help me out to resolve the issue?

Regards

Ashok
