Most likely your ram stick is bad.Try using another one to see if this is really the problem.

I am having the same problem on my E1705.  When I call dell customer support they try telling me to reformat.  I know this is a memory problem of some sort but they do not want to do anything but make me run mem tests or reformat.  I cannot believe I paid for 4 yrs of complete service to be told by someone that knows less about computers then I do to uninstall everything I have on the comp.  Oh and I have not installed anything out of the norm a few games and office 2003.

A memory parity error is hardware related. It doesn't have anything to do with software.I will still  advise you to run a memory test and to send the log with the error to dell. They won't be able to say it's something you've installed when the log/report will clearly state that it's a hardware issue.Just google around for some memory testing software.

well that is the funny thing about it the mem tests do not show any prob and the problem is intermitant.

That is because only one memory adress on the memory module may be bad, and it will onlyu crash when a certain application acceses that adress.Otherwise it could all just go smooth.Try to run a memtest.
