Memory Test Fail
Hi All,
I have a Inspiron 6400 which failed a memory test:
Memory addess line failyre at 47fdb2dc, read 0202020a expecting 02020202
To resolve this issue, try to reseat the memory.
Decreasing availably memory
strike f1 ket to continue, f2 to run the setup utility
Press f5 to run onboard diagnostics.
Error code 0123
Meg Error Code 2000-0123
Msg Memory integrity test dailed
address=0_05f532d ch. Actual=00002008h, expected=00002000h, location=dimm_b
aDDRESS=0_45F532D Ch, Actual=00002008h, expected=00002000h, Location- dimm_a
It did come up with another similar error with different address locations.
Any idea of what I can do? Reseating memory seems like an odd error.
Cheers

Hi,
Welcome to the Community. An Error code 0123 means a Memory integrity test failed. So reseating the memory is part of the troubleshooting process. Check the error code list below.
support.dell.com/.../document
Use the below link to reseat your memory, or just try one memory at a time, check if the issue is with just one memory stick, and try running the diagnostics again.

Thank you

It looks like on of the two memory chips is dead. The other chip works in both slots with out and error during diagnostics. The other won't load the laptop at all. It's an old laptop now so I'll think I'll let it run with 1gig of ram. Thanks for the reply.
