Mouse Trackpad not working properly after upgrade to Windows 8.1 on XPS12

Since I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 I have been needing to re-tune many settings (e.g. chrome text being blurry).

One thing that seems completely gone is my ability to right-click from my trackpad. I have so far been using an extended touch on the screen to right click, but this is an annoying and incomplete work around.

I thought maybe I needed to change some mouse settings, but when I went to the mouse settings from the control panel the Cypress TrackPad tab is gone!

I then realized that all the other functionality such as gestures and multi-touch were gone!

Anyone else have this happen to them or have a solution?

First: Download the official touchpad driver for windows 7 from here http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/ServiceTag/ Service tag removed per privacy policy> (my computer is a L702x, but i guess the method is the same for any model)

i downloaded the one that says "Recomended"

Then extract it anywhere (it might tell you after the extraction something about compatibility, dont worry just cancel)

Go to "(Where you extracted)\TouchPad_Synaptics_v17.0.6.13_W81x64_A\WinWDF\x64" and execute the application named "dpinst", install it, then reboot and voila! your touchpad came back to normal.

It's helpful on Dell Latitude 3540.

Thanks a lot!
