I am encountering the same runtime error, but the program causing it is not IE.  SmartView, which is a Sprint application that manages a USB air card device, is the culprit.  Here is the message (from the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library) I get when SmartView is launched:

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Sprint\Sprint SmartView\SprintSV.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I have spoken to Sprint tech support, and they claim that the problem is not in the mobile device or the SmartView software, and I tend to agree because I have uninstalled and reinstalled both SmartView and Microsoft Visual C++.  I have had the USB device checked at a Sprint store, and it worked fine on their PC.  The same error occurs at startup or when I try to launch the SmartView app.  I have also run scf scannow and have reset IE.

Anyone else?

So what do we do in the meantime?  I never before had a problem with my Inspirion B130.  But now I do for the same runtime error as this.  Is there a fix, other than purchasing a new laptop?  Thanks.
