My Laptop's System Password is not being recognized.

First off, I just want to say that i'm not sure if this is where this problem goes or not...

but here is the background info on my computer..I bought it in 2009 (so the warrenty is up) and it came with a bad battery so i've been having to buy and replace chargers for it about once every year. My laptop gets really good use because i'm a college student so I have to use it daily..well..my charger gave out the other day and it dosnt work anymore so I brought my laptop to work with me and just borrowed one of our work chargers. As it started up it prompted me for my "administrative/system" password (not the windows user password) I put my password in and it said it was wrong. So I hit the caps lock thinking the laptop may have died with the caps lock on and put my password in again..and nothing..no matter what it says the password is wrong when I know its 100% correct. I put the system password on my laptop bcause i live in a dorm during the school year and i didnt want my computer to get stolen or hacked or anything like that and now it just dosnt work. Is there any way of fixing or removing the password because i dont want to reboot my computer because it has important information and assignments on it that I need to graduate. Also, the computer refuses to do the boot up and go into safe mode..it won't go past the passwod screen for the system.

So if you could tell me how I could change/remove the password or at least access windows in casae it was hacked or something it would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks.

You need to call Dell - and verify your ownership of the system.  They will generate a system-specific master password.

There is a charge for this call - it is not free, if you're out of warranty.
