Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:

My laptop doesn't let me install the driver I downloaded from dell.

Why doesn't it let you? Are you getting an error message?  What does it say?

I tried to reinstall the ethernet controller driver to my Inspriton 1501 laptop with windows XP.

I had downloaded from dell drivers for the Inspiron 1501 the R149798 driver for XP Network Broadcom

440x 10/100 Integrated Controller Driver.  I unzipped files to c:\de;;\drivers all files were succesfully unzipped.

I got the welcome screen that said the install shield(r) wizard will allow ou to modify, repaidr or remove controller.

I clicked next and I only got a choice of removing driver.

So how can I install the driver?

Thanks,

Brina22

PS  When I go into the device manager the ethernet controller has a big yellow question mark next to it>
