Need help with error code 0xc0000001
I am having a issue with error code 0xc0000001. When I try the shift f8 option it goes to the the diagnostic option not the recovery option. I'm running windows 8 & it's a dell Inspiron 3520. It happened while I was updating drives. What do I do. The laptop is 3 months old

Hi alphasigs819,
You may try to crash your system 3 to 4 times to access Advanced Recovery Options. For crashing Windows 8 system, you may power off the system while it is trying to load Windows OS (i.e. after Dell logo), either by taking the battery out or by pressing and holding the power button down till the computer powers off. Once you are able to access Recovery Options, perform the steps mentioned below:
If the issue persists, you may try 'Automatic Repair' option in the above step and check if it is able to fix the issue.
Thanks & Regards

I tried the crash option and that isn't working. It still goes to the same screen where it gives the error code. Maybe I am doing it wrong. Will wait for next option

Sorry for the delayed reply as I was away.
Please let me know if you have Windows 8 re-installation disk.
Also, send me the service tag and name listed on the account in a private message.
