Need Help with Error Code 3600:0649 Invalid AC Adaptor
My Inspiron 9300 stopped charging however the PC will run on AC power I ordered new battery and it will not charge as well. So its not the battery. I ran the diagnostics and it reported Error Code: 3600:0649 Msg: Invalid AC Adaptor
This is the same power adaptor i got when ordered from dell. Any help wpuld be appreciated...........

Same thing is happening with my Inspiron 640m. Help please!!!!

I have a Latitude D620 and my battery stopped charging . I found the error code" 3600:0649 Invaild AC Adapter reported". Luckly I had a second adaptor so when I changed AC adaptors my battery starting charging again.

I don't think the adaptor is my problem, I have 2 Inspiron 6400, I have no problem with the other laptop using the same adaptor. The adaptor seems to be charging the battery without problem.

I fixed my problem by getting a different AC adapter. Sometimes the adapters go bad.

I have an Inspiron 6400 and I'm getting the same error code. The laptop freezes on the initial windows page, and won't load windows (7 upgrade from Vista). The BIOS is A13 and I know there is a version A14, but I have no idea if this part of the problem, and I'm at a loss to figure out where to go from here. Do I reformat and resinstall all software, or is this even necessary? Is the motherboard finished? Or am I missing the boat here?
