numeric keypad

I cannot activate the numeric keypad with Fn key as directed by the owners manual.  What am I doing wrong.  Does it only work in certain applications?  The "9" light does not come on.

Numlock or Fn+Numlock those are the only two choices I know of.

My Inspiron 1150 is only 2 weeks old and I too can not get my Num Loc function to work. I hit FN-Num Loc and the little light comes on but when i touch the keys it still types letters. Did you get any answers yet?

I was reviewing the manual this weekend and seen that after we do the FN-NUMLOC you have to hold down the FN key with one hand and then use the numeric pad with the other hand. That is B>S> I have used other computers and just FN-NUMLOC worked fine. I am like you -I am going to get a usb number pad to use. It is easier and for us that do alot of numeric data it is more correct. Thanks! Good Day!
