numlock problems

Hi All,
I am having trouble with using the numlock function on my keyboard.  i.e., I want to use the 9-digit keypad to enter some data, but it seems like I always have to hold down the blue "fn" key in order to use it.  Is there a way to get around this?  Just hitting the numlock key (w/out the "fn" key) doesn't seem to work.  for example, if I hit numlock, then the letter "o", I want to be able to input 6, but it continues to just type the letter "o".  Can anyone help?

Look in the bios. There should be an option on one of the pages that lets you specify whether NumLock is enabled or disabled at system startup.

hi all i found a solution on my own after calling tech support go into to the bios (F2) and then go to the page with the num lock option and if it is set to only by the fn key change it to num lock only. theres the cure. and tech support wanted to replace the keyboard for a simple solution so even on the new keyboard it wouldnt have worked.
