problem with onboard key board on laptop not functioning

I have a Dell Latitude D830 and have just updated to Windows 10. I now have a problem with the key board. The following keys in the  middle row do not respond a, s, d, f, j, k, l,

All the other keys do including g, h, ;, ' (also Caps lock and Enter)

What is my problem?

Mike

I am now using a USB attached key board which works

Hi mapc46,

I would suggest you to try flashing the BIOS on the system to check if keys work. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the operating system, and then download the BIOS from the BIOS section onto the system and install it.

Thanks.. I had updated the BIOS from A15 to A17 but that did not work. So I removed the keyboard and reconnected to the mother board, reassembled and then all keys worked again.. thanks for your support.

Mike
