I have a similar issue with an Aurora X51 and PowerDVD 9.6.1.6523 not playing a new Blu-Ray (Limitless). The error that I get is text that says:
This Blu-ray Disc has been manufactured to the latest Blu-ray Disc standards. To ensure the best possible viewing experience, your Blu-ray Player may require an update.
If you experience problems playing this disc, please visit http://blu-raydisc.com/ForBestResults for more information on updates or consult your Blu-ray Player manual for details on updating your Blu-ray Player.
Near as I can guess this is something like a 1-year license that's expired. I doubt they added anything to the standard that requires new firmware. I submitted a request to CyberLink but I haven't yet heard back.
I had previously gotten an AACS License Key Update message, back in November 2013, and I eventually fixed that by signing up here and going to My Downloads at https://smartsource.dell.com/web/main.aspx -- but there's no newer version of PowerDVD there.
