Remote control not working

Question

I was watching a dvd on my m1530 recently and decided to test out the remote control that is stored in my express card slot.   no matter what pressed, the remote would not work, any thoughts?

I'm sure you would have checked the battery - inserted properly/good charge, etc. Instructions are in the XPS Manual.

Beyond that you might want to install the Thomson Dell Premium Remote Control Application which is available under the Video section of drivers for XPSM1530.

Among other things it puts a little icon in your system tray that allows you to stop and restart the service.

I had a similar problem at one point.  I discovered that the IR reciever was to the left of the left-most headphone plug.  I just made sure the that remote was pointed in that vicinity and my remote started to work.  I hope that this helps you some.

Hi,   The remote only works for certain programs. I believe it only works for windows media player and windows media center.   Austin
