Replacement parts

I recently received a refurbished part from Dell to replace the CD/DVD burner that was giving me problems.

? Is this the norm ???  I really feel that after spending a couple grand on a laptop you should really get a NEW replacement part.

Or am I just a cranky old guy?

Its the norm for the industry as a whole. Some people dont like it, but I really don't understand why. It has the same warrenty as the laptop and is functionally and cosmetically perfect. If it didn't have the refurb sticker on it, you'd never know....

The sticker is the only thing that tiped me off, but it really makes me wonder if the entire PC was built from new parts or refurbished ones to begin with.

Guess I'll never know:(

Still not happy about it,  but,  Thanks for the reply

If the part came from the Dell spare parts division this is normal. All parts that come from spare parts are marked as REFURBED whether they are new or removed from other PCs and refurbed.
