screen too dark

my screen on my laptop suddenly went very dark. im barely able to make objects out. how can i make the screen go back to normal?

What Model?

Press the FN Key and the Brightness key on your Keyboard untill it gets to where you want it.

It sounds more like the backlight or inverter has failed - is the system under warranty? If so, call Dell - they will replace the screen. If not, contact an LCD repair specialist.
