I had to reinstall windows, on my Dell inspiron e1505, everything working fine, the only thing haved not been able to figure out  is, my computer used to make a beeping noise after reboot when i was pressing keys like shift, control keys, that sound is off. what am i missing?

Thanks

You have sticky keys on rapidly press shift 5 times. There should be a dialogue box telling you that they are switched on or off or a different beep, then they will be switched off.

Hello natakuc4,

I'm thinking that sticky keys which you mentioned is something inside the OS,, what is it supposed to do at the time of POST... Dont you think its funny....

Yeah sticky keys is an accessibility option inside the OS. For people who would rather press key combinations like control, alt and delete separately. Think I misread.

To be honest my system has never made any beeps for pressing control or shift while booting up. It is an inspiron 6400 which is identically the same to the E1505. It has had windows xp, vista and 7 on it and still not made such beeps. My sisters unit has never made any beeps either.

There may be a setting in the BIOs F2 but to be honest I think it is probably better that it doesn't make any beeping sounds.
