Some problems with secondhand Latitude E5500

Hi. My dad(he can't speak English:emotion-2:) bought very cheap secondhand Latitude E5500(just laptop, batterry and charger) but we have some problems...

1) We have some problems with multiplier regulating, it's hanging somewhere about 1,5Ghz(think it's c2d 2,4Ghz) and laptop is pretty lazy :( (tried another cpu, same) -- Mayble problems with NB or SB?

2) We tought that stock battery is dead, so we ordered new, but laptop is not charging! :( (tried adapter from friend's Vostro, my Inspiron 15z and brothers's ATG -- motherboard?

Thanks for your answers. :)

Battery is thirdparty but from some review its look allright(GoingPower). I haven't tried power with another adapters, just charging. In fact, I am not sure now if adapter that we have bought with computer is oem or 3rd party... I will ask dad tommorow.

The system won't run at full speed without a fully recognized AC adapter.  If you've tried a couple of them to no effect (and they're Dell adapters, not third party ones), the next step is to replace the DC power jack.

If that doesn't solve the problem, replace the mainboard.

the battery is a separate issue - it won't charge, but should be recognized even if the AC adapter is not.  Is it an OEM battery or a third-party battery?

Just press F2 at powerup - go into the BIOS setup.  Is the AC adapter listed or showing "unknown"?
