S/PDIF and Inspiron 600M
I understand from the 600M product literature and from reading the message boards that you can get S/PDIF audio out of the 600M by using the port replicator.
But is this the only way (I have no interest in another desk-cluttering gadget!)?
For example, it seems that with the 8500 and 8600 the s-video port doubles as an S/PDIF outlet (through use of a splitter). Is this not the case with the 600M?

Can someone please answer this question? I am trying to do the same thing with the Dell DP/N: 070TVD which is the SVIDEO->SVIDEO/COMPOSITE VIDEO/SPDIF adapter. Is this possible on a 600m!?
