temperature range
My XPS M1730 equipped with nVidia SLI 8700M GT and Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7700 @ 2.40GHz. I installed a program to monitor the temperature of the CPU and GPU. It shows for normal usage: CPU 60 degree C, GPU 75 degree C, for games: CPU 70 degree C, GPU 90-95 degree C.
Is this normal for this video card model and CPU? What would the average temperature be?
Thanks

I am interested in your post. I was just on the phone for one and a half hours with Dell support yesterday as my Inspiron 1720 was running quite hot. Actually measured the temperature coming out of the CPU at 100F. After much discussion with Dell and checking all the functions on the hard drive they loaded a program on to my computer to help in reducing the temperature.
They could not tell me what "normal" temperature should be but they sure indicated the 100F was ton the high side. So i find your temperatures quite high in comparison to mine. As you indicate that your temps are in Celsius.
Just for interest I left my computer on overnight to see what the temp would be like this morning after no activity and the temp is way down near 24.7C or 77F
I am going to check this a bit more while the system is in use and se where the temp goes. By the way after much discussion Dell asked me to send my computer back to have it checked out in their lab. I have an extended warranty so this is no charge to me.
My computer was so hot i could hardly touch the underside.
Does anyone know about the potential class action against Dell for overheated computers?
Thanks!
