That HUGE BRICK (Power Supply)
Is it possible if the DELL Techs can work on a SMALLER more portable power supply for the Inspirion 9100 Series? This HUGE Power Supply is quite heavy to carry around. & considering the 9100s are Power Hungry Monsters, a smaller more portable PS would be very usefull!
Actually, I heard all Dell Notebook power supplies are huge heavy bricks! Time to update Dell!!

I have seen smaller power supplies able to output way more power. & I have even seen smaller power inverters that output 200watts. & many Dells have this huge brick for a power supply. Try lugging a 9100 or an XPS around with a battery & a power supply, & you'll understand the need for a smaller power supply!

I'm also the (proud) owner of the 9100. I need to buy a second power source (to balance the weight on each shoulder).
Joking aside, when will Dell make them available?
I guess this is the price we pay for being an "early apopter" of the desktop replacements. Next time around, I would buy the 8600...

No thanks I like having a notebook that is small and light.
If you wanted a NOTEBOOK you should of bought a NOTEBOOK not a monster.

As any serious user knows, you have to chose either POWER or PORTABILITY. I chose Power. (all 9 pounds of it) I have seen many dell models that have this HUGE power supply. The problem is, Dell does not build its own hardware. They have companies build things for them & then Dell slaps there name on it (OEM Branding) Dell is not about to pay some company millions of dollars to develop a smaller lighter power supply just for our sakes.
I hope one day, they realize the 9100 (& many other dell models) would benefit from a smaller more portable Power Supply.
