Yes you can disable the tap to click in the XPS laptop.
Please follow the below steps:
Launch the Synaptics software from the system tray in the bottom right side of the screen.
It launches the touchpad settings manager. There are many types of touchpad settings you can configure. Please uncheck the “tap to click” option in the software and click “Apply” and “Ok” to save the changes. Now check the functionality of the touchpad.
If the touchpad driver is not installed please install the touchpad drivers from the link below:

Note: Use an external mouse for downloading the drivers, because the touchpad would not work after uninstalling the touchpad drivers.
1) Click the above link, select drivers and downloads from the option and the page looks as follows:
2) From the select Download file.
3) Once the download is completed, run the driver file.
4) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
5) Restart the computer.
Now check the functionality of the touchpad and reply for any further help.
