touchpad problem vostro 3550
Hi,
I just bought a new vostro 3550 and I've got problems with the touchpad. The mouse cursor moves all over the place, when i unplug the power it works fine!
Will there be a driver update or any other solution for this problem or do I have to send my new laptop back.
thanks.

Try unchecking the mouse control panel option that says Hide the mouse cursor when typing.

Thanks...
But it won't solve the problem.
The problem is that the mouse cursor wont do what I want when I press the touchpad. (only occurs with the power connected)

I don´t know how to solve this but I just got my vostro 3550 yesterday and the touchpad is already driving me nuts! Sometimes it works just fine but then all of a sudden it doesn´t do what I´m trying to do. sometimes it won´t go left at all and it freezes all the time. Really, really, really annoying specially because I´m doing very detailed photo editing...

Everything is working fine now!

Just received computer, and as well touch pad function is lagging after filling out text boxes (plug in or not plugged in). Looks like I'll be making a long call to get a service tech out if that is really the solution.

Same here. Is it really an issue with the AC charger?

Have you installed the latest Alps (TouchPad) - Driver (Version A04)? I also had severe problems before this update, but now the trackpad is more or less okay.

Strangely enough, what fixed this on the last 2 Vostro 3550's I've configured is simply using the Fn-F3 key combo to turn the trackpad off and then back on.
