USB Bluetooth dongle

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501. I purchased a Microsoft Bluetooth notebook mouse 5000 and a Bluetooth dongle for my Dell Inspiron 1501 (Vista). I can not get my laptop to recognize the Bluetooth dongle and setup the driver. So, I purchased another Bluetooth dongle and my Dell 1501 doesn't see it either. Both dongle sellers say my laptop should recognize them with out additional software. I tried both dongles in another older Dell 5100 (XP) and they both worked fine. I need direction as to how to get my Dell 1501 to recognize one offer of my Bluetooth dongles so I can use my new mouse. HELP!
