Here is the procedure:

1. Go to Nvidia's site and download the latest driver.
2. Run the exe file you downloaded in (1) to extract the files to a directory on your computer.
3. Once the files are extracted, the installer will start automatically. Click cancel to stop it.
4. Download this file: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/infs/5655inf/nv4_disp.inf
5. Copy the inf file you downloaded in (4) to the directory where you extracted the Nvidia driver in (2). The extracted driver already contains a file with that name which will be overwritten.
6. Start - Control Panel - System  - Hardware - Device Manager - Display Adapters. Right click on your graphics card, click uninstall. Follow the prompts to reboot.
7. Run setup.exe in your extracted directory, follow the prompts and reboot when finished.
8. All done. :)

i tried updating from ATI website and after downloading the big file , i did not work and installion problems encoutered. i  sent an e mail to ATI ,they replied that some manufusturers choose certain drivers to work with the whole system and updates should not be applied although when i try new games it tells me that your display drivers are not update

Ya I knew that, but I wanted to install the other drivers anyway. Turns out you can use the omega drivers, www.omegacorner.com.
