ati2dvag file stuck in infinite loop

My computer automatically restarts every 5 to 10 minutes or so because the ati2dvag file gets stuck in an infinite loop.  This problem comes from the video driver.  This is very frustrating cause i just bought my laptop about a week ago.  I have a Inspiron E1505.  I have tried updating my video driver, restoring my computer back to original everything, and looked all over the place to try to solve this issue.  Does anyone have any advice on how to cure this?  Im pretty new at computers and I could find all the info that you need.

This is what I know:
ATI Mobility Radeon X1300

if you're game then more up-to-date non-dell drivers are available.

do a google search for omega drivers.

I had the same infinite loop error message that drove me crazy. I ended up having to uninstall the driver that I had and install a previous driver that took care of the problem. Apparently the latest driver had a bug that conflicted with my ATI Mobility Radeon .

Can you please elaborate on this further? What version did you get and where can I get it? I have tried everything and still cant get rid of this stupid thing

I'm the one who started this thread and to this day the problem is not resolved.  I have the Omega drivers installed and I still have the ati2dvag blue screen on a random basis.  Dell now is trying to tell me that it is my screen.  They want me to hook up an external monitor and see if it happens.  The problem now is that it happens so randomly, whose to say it is because of the screen or not - and also - wait a minute - this is a laptop and how often and how long do I have to sit in front of an external monitor to wait for the problem to rear its ugly head again?

I advise for computer purchases in our company and five others as well and I have always recommended Dell.  I own five of my own.  I have never had an issue like this before where the problem can't be solved.  But, here we are.  A problem that is unresolved since at least November (though little things were happening prior to that month).  I'm not liking Dell's response in this case.

I did the following:
  • Go into Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs and remove all ati programs
  • Reboot machine
  • Go to www.support.dell.com and click on Drivers and Downloads
  • Put in your service tag and click go
  • Click find downloads
  • Click video adapter-The driver that you will probably see is R128572.exe (this is the driver that was giving me the problem
  • Click on Other Versions
  • You will see 3 versions with the last three digits A01, A02, A03.
  • II tried A03 first and it didn't fix the problem so I then removed this and went through the process again using the A02 driver. This fixed the problem. Apparently my video card was manufactured prior to the latest driver coming out and there is some conflict.

Good luck. Hope this works for you.

That's a new one I hadn't seen before (never noticed the "Other Versions" link).  I will try it.  At this point, I will try anything since Dell feels their work with me is done (with no resolution to the problem).

Ok so I tried the other version of the download and it didn't work for me. I have tried everything under the sun to get this stupid thing over with. I have tried the omega drivers...reinstalling the video driver over again...ect... Wish there was a simple way to get rid of this stupid thing so I can quit stressing over this.
