customer unservice
Where can i go to get help ordering a part or reporting poor customer service?
I purchased a factory refurbished laptop from groupon in January, I can't transfer the service tag because I was not given enough info from groupon on previous owner, thus tech support wont help me. Spare parts says none are in stock nor have been for the 3 months I have been trying to order an Optical Drive. This is a current production E5430, I can call and order a new one and get a drive shipped with it in 3 days. So I know the drives are are available.. Where can I go for help?????
I have spoken to so many reps and just get passed around.. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had.

I found the drive you needed on Discount Electronics. This is for the Latitude E5400 and is the same specification drive that you need. I was told by their representative that the front bezel is different. You will need to use the front bezel off of your old drive.

All the part numbers for the drive, and the bezel are included above.
If Dell Spare Parts doesn't have the parts in stock, you may have to search on eBay for what you need. I was able to find several with the bezel included, and there was one listing for the bezel by itself. I also found one on Amazon for a very good price, that included the bezel.
Since the parts for the E5400 are the same, it might be a good idea to search using that term as well.

at one point dell did ship me a drive but it was for a 5420 and it would not secure in the bay, and the bezel was wrong.. the securing was biggest issue..

I have no front bezel.. that is the problem. laptop came without the drive. there is a blank out plate in the laptop now.. its a one piece unit that fills the bay.. there is no removable bezel.

If it didn`t come with a DVD/CD drive you may not be able to plug it in on the Motherboard. Your best bet is to buy an external DVD/CD drive and plug it in via USB.

the other drive (the wrong one) plugged in and worked.. just could not secure. I dont want an external. I want an internal so i have freedom of movement.

unfortunately you are mistaken.. the E5400 drive does not have the same bezel. I was sent one by dell..part# MGFK2, it did not match up with the laptop edge, and it would not secure in the laptop. I have had an order placed for one since 4/10/13. They keep pushing it out.... still tell me none are in stock... I really can't believe that a company that manufactures and sells this laptop currently can't, or I should say wont. provide me with an optical drive. they just keep trying to sell me an external... i don't want that..

Don't know if you found one or not but here is one that should work:
www.ebay.com/.../200948409050
You will still need to find a way to secure it though.
