Infinite loop error - ATI m9

I constantly get infinite loop errors when I play games.

The laptop is only 2 months old and freezes when playing games.  If I surf the internet, play DVDs or anything non gaming related it works fine.  I'm currently using Dell's latest video drivers.

Please help!

Below is from the event viewer:

The driver ati2dvag for the display device \Device\Video0 got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.

rodal,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Does this happen with more than one game?  Please download and install the latest drivers from our website.  You may also want to run the video test from the Dell Diagnostics to test the hardware.

It crashes in all games including 3dmark2001SE and 3dmark03 patched versions.  I'm using the current dell drivers and also tried the diagnostic test.  I'm sending it to Dell and hopefully the video card/mobo will be replaced

The problem is fixed.  I sent the laptop to Dell and they replaced the motherboard and flashed my bios back to A05.

The repairs took 3 weeks total despite what the Dell phone tech told me of 3-5 days.
