Inspiron B130 completely dead

My Inspiron B130 is completely dead. When I press the power button, there are no lights, and the computer doesn't even attempt to boot up. I don't believe it's simply a battery problem. The one thing that may be worth noting is that when I plug my AC adapter into the wall, the light goes green and stays green. When I then plug the adapter into my computer, the green light begins to flash. In the past, when my notebook was working properly, the green light would stay green once I plugged it in. Any thoughts? I've been told this is most likely a motherboard problem.

It is indeed a faulty system board.

In general, how much does a new motherboard usually cost when ordering from Dell?

agree it is probably motherboard issue. however, if you are able, try another known good charger. ...or use a multimeter to test for correct power output from the existing charger. i see these B130 chargers fail all the time.

Any idea on the cost of a new motherboard from Dell? If I have to buy a new motherboard and pay for them to replace it on top of the $160 charge just to send it in, I'm wondering if it'd be better to simply buy a new laptop.

notebook motherboards usually seem to be around $300.

My Laptop B130 just died.  They told me it was the battery which I purchased for $200.00.  My laptop still is not working.  I need to call back to try again to correct this problem.
